The Pitch
Design a compelling interactive website to raise awareness on biodiversity loss.
The team of creative friends that joined forces to make something beautiful and meaningful.
It took a few meet-ups to decide on what route it would take, and I'm honored that the animal advocacy I'm pushing in my personal time did resonate with the other team members.

Creating the Look and feel
We knew we'd be talking about animals that were long gone. In fact, when looking for more information on the extinct animal species, we had a hard time finding visual representations for most of them. Some were depicted as drawings, others had a few black and white photographs to witness their previous existence.
The last representation of them we could get would be a LLM generated picture based on the few facts and visual ressources we could get. It felt apropriate to not show the ainmals as a realist photography portraits, but rather give them a painterly look so viewers would understand from the get go that they're gone.
Raising Awareness
In addition to the Welcome intrudctin message, we introduced the timer. It's low key counting down seconds at the bottom of the screen. The timer is designed to give you enough time to start exploring, but it's also short enough to experience the loss of what you though would last until the end of your eploration. When time is up, all animals are gone, and you'd read this "time is running out" message.
Lastly, it felt important to me to add this notion of taking action to the whole exploration. I selected 6 NGO focused on animal conservation, through direct action or through human education.
Respecting non-human animals and bidiversity as a whole is essential, first for their own life that matters to them of course, and also for the 'planet' we know and love, and for our own survival.

The teasing phase on social media
With exactly zero Euros spent on media coverage, we wanted to create attention on this project, so we released a few teasing videos prior to the website release.
